Coding Continuum, Inc. proudly announces that its Professional Medical Coding Curriculum program has been accorded a Vocational License by the State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.
The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) was designed, and is updated annually, by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) to prepare individuals for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification examination. Only AAPC licensed instructors are allowed to present this course. Coding Continuum Inc.'s three AAPC licensed instructors collectively possess over 70 years of coding and teaching experience. The Education Team includes the published author of Coding Coach: Examination Documentation Made Easy as well as nationally recognized coding experts and instructors.
The course consists of twenty-one modules and includes instructor presentations, quizzes, exercises, reviews and assignments. There will also be end of chapter review questions, mid-term exams and final exams. The course is 80 hours and will run in accordance with the schedule listed on the agenda. At the end of the course CCI instructors administer/proctor the AAPC exam for those students interested in obtaining the CPC credential.
Each student must purchase an AAPC Student Membership. In addition, students wishing to take the national Certified Professional Coder examination must pay a testing fee as a precursor to taking the examination. Additional text and reference materials required for the course include copies of current CPT-4, ICD-9, and HCPCS books. Students must possess a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is required. It is strongly recommended that individuals possess a medical dictionary such as Taber's or Stedman's.

Important Note: The course and registration fees are paid directly to Coding Continuum, Inc. Personal checks and credit cards are accepted. Payment plan options are also available at no additional charge to students. The remaining fees for Membership and Certification Exam (AAPC Fees) are collected by Coding Continuum, Inc. and checks for these fees are made payable to CCI. Membership Fees and Course Fees are due at orientation. AAPC fees are forwarded directly to AAPC by Coding Continuum, Inc.
